“Palmer shares his often unique, sometimes irreverent, view of the world in an accessible, engaging manner. In some ways, this was a gutsy book to write. Palmer dared to write it. Do you dare to read it?”

Synopsis:

No More Heroes takes place in the world of a super-secret organization of government assassins who are “the most cunning, creative, ruthless killers on the planet, ever.” In this world, an event occurs that is so traumatic that it catalyzes humanity into its next phase of development. This phase is both the same and different than our own – different because humanity has advanced to a new level – the same because humans are still human.

The book takes place in two primary interleaved times: now and the future (about 50 years from now). There are two main characters in the ‘now’ part. Chase Hancock is a nerdy UCLA computer engineering major, with potential in areas he’s not yet aware of. Lacey Howard is a confident, capable young woman. But, for various reasons, she’s somewhat naive as to the ways of the world. Chase and Lacey fall in love in the midst of tragedy, but have very little time to enjoy that love. There are also two main characters in the ‘future’ part: Kurt and his father. Kurt and his father spend some of the novel in dialog, until… Oh wait, sorry, you need to read the book!
